Travel Sketches

Ido + I Are Travel Junkies

And my watercolor kit travels with me - in every country, on every hike, and up every mountain.

Israel

In June of 2019, I moved from the Midwestern cornfields of central Ohio to a city on the Mediterranean Sea in northern Israel. Needless to say, I've been steadily inspired by my adopted home country ever since.

Greece

In September of 2022, Ido and I spent two jam-packed weeks road-tripping across the mainland of Greece, driving from the port city of Thessaloniki up north, to the monasteries of Meteora to the northwest, and down to the ancient cities of Delphi and Athens.  Holy WOW was it great.

Jordan

In June of 2022, my husband Ido and I spent 2 jam-packed weeks in this wildly-underrated country.  Guys - Jordan is WAY more than just Petra.  (Take a minute to Google "Jerash" and tell me I'm wrong). And I just can't stop painting it.

Tanzania

In January of 2021, Israel went into it's *third* lockdown for COVID-19 lockdown ... and indefinitely postponed our long-awaited wedding.  Stuck at home and needing a meaningful goal, Ido and I decided to train for hiking one of the seven summits: Kilimanjaro.  And 9 months later, I packed a tiny travel watercolor kit in my backpack - and on September 14th, we summited together.

Seychelles

For Ido and I, getting married was an absurdly difficult process.  Not only were we not able to get married in Israel (because I'm not Jewish), we couldn't leave the country to get married because of Covid - ! Then, FINALLY, after a year of delays and heartache, we managed to fly to the African island country of Seychelles and get married on the beach in the rain on April 9th, 2021.

Crete

In October of 2019, Ido and I spent a week with friends on the island of Crete, lounging poolside and exploring the Minoan ruins (home of the fabled Minotaur). It was a much-needed reprieve after a year of hard effort to get me to Israel (I moved in June of 2019).  And the first trip I started using on-location water for travel sketches
